I sit and watch the movie play,
While thoughts of leaving never stray.
The glowing sign, it calls to me,
But I stay still for all to see.
It’s not a shout, no urgent plea,
Just silent pain inside of me.
I’m trapped between the light and dark,
A quiet ache within my heart.
Though I won’t rise and walk away,
That exit sign is there each day.
A constant hum that wont decline,
As I stare at the exit sign.
You are not alone.
