There’s a worse pain than being utterly alone in this world,
Far worse,
Being surrounded by people who do not hear your pain,
Do not want to hear it,
They are there, sure,

They listen carefully to your words,
They hear you cry, and cry,
Begging for help, or mercy,
But they say nothing,
As if you were silence,

Expressing your pain, only to be met with a wall of silence,
Is the deepest kind of wound,
Because it confirms what you always knew,
That, in the end,
You don’t matter.
