Sit with me
Let my mind wonder to a place
Where you smile and take my hand
And while the world rushes around us
Get lost in me
Fall in love with the 'some days'
And the breath-taking 'maybe's' to come
Where the earth doesn't dare crumble beneath our feet and swallow us to our necks
But instead, we remain above ground,
unburdened by pressure on our chests
Saying a prayer that doesn't reach amen, but goes on in praise for the peace we've craved
And finally found together
