With a sweep of the sword
With a sweep of the sword,
I cut through time, step in, and watch—
Your father sketching in the garden,
Your mother lifeless in the cellar.
To write, one must first think.
Thought cuts like a blade;
It, too, reshapes the world.
But it does not change mine.
