I saw a bird fly into a panel of glass
it’s stubbornness was admirable
Although I knew it could not pass

Its eyes bore into me
Though my face was a mystery
Oblivious to where it was heading
Trapped but also free

Breaking its body again and again
It refused to give up
This pointless battle to win

Understanding surged through me
As I watched that little bird
Stupid but fearless
Words I had once heard

Its eyes were empty
But gave me life
That bird would fight forever
Haunted with constant strife
#struggle #persistent #sad
