The Moon needs the Sun, they say,
But isn’t it just a game they play?
In truth, they stand on their own,
Only the Earth depends on their show.

At times, the Earth blocks the light,
Forcing the Moon to glow in the night.
But when the Moon veils the Sun’s golden face,
It proves its power, its silent grace.

Plunging the world into fleeting shade,
It reminds the Sun of the dark it’s made.
Yet even in darkness the Moon still glows,
Whole on its own— this it knows.
