The love that shouldn’t be

by 1ocz_

I laugh, I joke, I wear the mask, I act so strong, yet break so fast. You see me whole, but I am weak, A love unspoken, yet so deep. I loved you knowing love’s not fair, A silent wish, a whispered prayer. But love is cruel—it never stays, Just lingers long in shadowed days. A heart once shattered, lost in time, A love that’s his, yet never mine. You call me ‘friend,’ and so I’ll be, A soul that loves yet won’t be free.
