Sometimes Mommas Cry

by robindunlop51

Maybe I just needed the cry, Cause it's been building up for a while. But out of nowhere it just hit me, You'd be gone by tomorrow night. I know I shouldn't because you're grown, And all the maturity that you've shown, But momma's heart will always cry, When her babies are on their own. It's not because I think you need me. Your independence always ran freely. Mistakes will be made and lessons learned, Maybe my tears are just fears, you see? The good days and bad will ebb and flow. Memories will be made with pictures to show. You're a strong and brilliant precious stone, And momma will be with you, wherever you go. Sometimes mommas just break down and cry, Sometimes mommas don't really know why. But she'll wipe her face, just like she did yours, Because mommas know it's gonna be alright.
