When I am lonely, the silence drowns, the air is tight, the world is dim, devoid of light. My thoughts are waves that crash and roar, adrift, unmoored, longing for shore.
Loneliness is a hollow tide, pulling away what stays inside.
When I am alone, the waves breathe slow, the currents flow, the open sea is all I know. My thoughts drift free, the tide is kind, no chains to pull, no past to bind.
Aloneness is a quiet shore, where I need nothing, nothing more.
Inspired by Steven Yocums "Aloneness" Aloneness is an opportunity to grow and to gain confidence. To really get to know and love oneself it is imperative to spend time alone. For if you cannot love yourself who can? But being lonely is an entire different state of affairs. To feel alone and without friendship or love... especially surrounded by so many beings.... it is quite heartbreaking. Oh to grasp this at a young age and learn to be happy from the inside out.
