I tried to run, I tried to hide,
From mercy deep and love so wide.
I traced the stars, I searched the sea,
But still, Your grace kept calling me.
I longed for truth, I longed for light,
Yet stumbled blindly through the night.
But every road led back to You,
The only hope, the only Truth.
Take me back to where I began,
Kneeling down with empty hands.
No more questions, no more pride,
Just in Your love I abide.
You bore the weight I couldn’t bear,
You took the cross, You met me there.
And though I broke, though I failed,
Your love endured, Your love prevailed.
Now grace restores what sin had lost,
My life purchased with blood at the cross.
No need for answers, no need to fear,
Your love is constant, always near.
To The God who loves me wherever I roam,
Who has a set place, made a home.
Within his divine, forever embrace,
To one day gaze upon your holy face
Oh, Jesus, Savior, lift my eyes,
To see my home beyond the skies.
I see it clearly now! I know it’s true!
I was made to run to You!
