How easy it is
To completely numb yourself

Society is not designed for living
It’s only about functioning
About performing your duty
To a system that in truth doesn’t care

It’s scary how easy it is
To get lost in other worlds
To spend your days watching others
To constantly entertain yourself

Where is the true joy?
Where is the true pain?
Where are the true feelings?
Where has being alive gone?

All we do is exist
Exist to numb ourselves
With whatever the world offers
The supply is endless

The digital world is a literal rabbit hole
You can spent your whole life
Digging deeper and deeper
You still won’t get to the bottom

It’s an endless stream
Distraction after distraction
Until there is no other world
That we would want to live in

Life in front of a screen
Is a life of ease
Or so it may seem
In truth it’s a disease

It’s fear
Fear of reality
Fear of anything true
Fear of living

Life outside
Is where true joys hide
Look away from your screen
Get out of the dream

Life is now
Life will forever be now
Life with ease is a delusion
But feel free to make your own conclusion
