Cycles of instants
Death
Ox-eye! Bull-gaze!
The mole's glance devours me whole,
Twisting light-vines tight,
And I fade.
Birth
Crack! Crack! I am the bursting one!
Mother's light, the warmth of sound,
Through silent sands,
I roar to life.
Present
Crow-witch! Smoke-rain!
A horn wails through the sleeve of dusk.
City-blocks, steps that quake—
A booming echo.
Dream
I long to go! Beyond, beyond!
Where star-light shines, where endless skies call.
One step forward—eternal flight,
And I’m boundless!
