When I met you I knew we'd always be together
From the moment you smiled then ever so softly said "Hi"
To the moment you walked away so shyly but it was cute enough to grasp my attention and I just thought for a moment
And in that momentΒ Β I thought to myself "why is he so shy?"
After the next few days went by I asked him why his speech had been so scarce
He had handed me a spiral notebook and said "read it"
Because I didn't have much time to read, I had only gotten to about the fourth page in his notebook but the fourth page was far enough
Before he came to the school we're at now, his teacher had asked him what he had wanted to be when he was older
He said "a drummer in a rock and roll band"
The classroom had become silent
And his teacher said "rock and rolls dead"
The class had started to burst out in a cry of laughter
And
From that point on
This boy was bullied everyday.
Not only did he lose all of his friends, he had also lost his father figure not to longer after
But there was one part that stuck out to me the most...
One night this boy had gone out past midnight because he had heard a loud noise outside of his house
He had soon discovered it had just been a concert
When he paused before continuing to walk back home
A large groups a boys from his school had come up behind him and beat him to a pulp
He had yelled and screamed for someone to help him
But one one did...
He had laid in that same spot the rest of the night..
Now, after getting to know this boy really well, hes not too shy anymore
Even though he still gets picked on for being a different race then everyone else
I'm relieved that the boy I have come to love can live in bliss.
