dried banana chips to you
yesterday
i gave her
smiling brightly as always
received
after the night
enduring life in loneliness
this morning
we exchanged morning greetings again
climbing the stairs
she called out
with her face
like a fragrance that's not strong
and she smiled
Helen said
“broken my tooth eating them”
her face again had
a smile spread across her face
i didn't know what to do
I just said "I am so sorry"
turning around,
Helen said, “pray for me.”
as I walked back up the stairs
I prayed......
