remember the heroes
of covid 19
tirelessly working
without any vaccines
but as soon as it arrived
so many got fired
for choosing
not to roll up their sleeves
their numbers dwindled
and they became few
but told to keep fighting

they worked twelve hour shifts
seven days a week
until they became tired
and in need of a boost
they received more money
to stop them from going to sleep
