big block of concrete
as to seperate
fire from heat

and man from snow

a forgetfulness flustering
damp grass crying out
echo upon echo

pretty thing! says the man
lost in his posture
of every corn of sand

a gratitude
that isn't lost on children
selling their moms for snow

foxes in traps
unheard noise overpowering
and the love of bigger boys
the man smiles, still?

a big block of concrete
like his smile
fire from heat
man from snow
and children from joy
