A silence hangs,
a heavy shroud,
Where laughter danced,
a grieving crowd.
A vacant chair,
a missing face,
A heart-wrenching,
empty space.

The whispered words,
a chilling breeze,
A life cut short,
a soul's unease.
Unanswered questions,
shadows deep,
A sorrow that refuses sleep.

The memories flood,
a bittersweet tide,
Of moments shared,
where dreams reside.
A gentle smile,
a loving hand,
Now just a ghost,
in this sad land.

The pain is raw,
a burning brand,
A broken heart,
across the land.
We search for answers,
seek to know,
Why such a darkness had to grow.

But understanding's distant shore,
May never grant what we implore.
We hold them close,
within our heart,
And cherish memories,
set apart.

Though grief may linger,
tears may fall,
Love's enduring light transcends it all.
And in that light,
we find our way,
To honor life,
and mourn this day.
