Dreams on the Wind...
I sit at the window, waiting for you
for each day you wander and dance
and sometimes you shine with the fragrance of life
another time lost in some distant romance
and I see you at sunset alone and afraid
and call out your name and you smile
for I never did know you , yet something prevails
would I know you forever, or just for a while...
And love is the archer of all the unknown
unbridled in dreams of the heart
with stuttering songbirds all calling their tune
forever together and never apart
and I watched us in moonlight
as red skies fell blue
and I followed the kiss in the dark
reaching for clover and pastures all new
carving the breath of love on the bark...
Shall I hold of your hand and see what you dream
so pretty and dressed in the light
and talk of the old times we never could know
laughter and sparkles of stars in the night...
And I sit by the window and watch you go by
each day that you wander and dance
could love be so simple and touch the divine
would dreams of a dreamer be made just by chance
and I never did know you, yet something prevails
touching the grace of a smile
and love is the keeper of dreams on the wind
did I know you forever, or just for a while....
