There once was a pigeon.
She was soon to bee a mother and made her nest upon a roof.
A simple little nook that seemed well enough for her young.
Soon enough, eggs filled the nest and she sat upon them as much as she could.
The humans who passed by would scare her and the father, but they guarded the nest day and night.
Weeks passed and a storm blew in.
Winds whipped, rain fell, lightning flashed through the sky as the crack of thunder soon followed.
The mother pigeon held onto her eggs as tightly as possible.
A gust of wind, a quick flash, and one egg remained.
The mother mourned the ones who did not get a chance to follow the winds of the sky, but she looked at the one who survived with hope.

More time passed, the egg hatched, winds howled the landscape as the mother pigeon looked for food.
She arrived to an empty nest.
