Place on the rat-eaten desk
a red piggy bank
mother said
“Honey, no matter how much you want to take it out
If you hold on it there until it's full
you will be a great man”
One month
Two months
As the months went by
than the mind to put money in
more eager
to take it out and spend it
then one day
“Mother, I don't want to be a good man.”
before my words were finished
“What are you trying to be?”
My mother said
I was wandering
around outside the neighborhood
when the chimneys started to smoke
sneakily into the room
and slaughtered a pig
“Oh, yeah!”
we were calling each other's names
we ran to the shabby store.
