And then it struck him:
One half.
"What?" he muttered.

One half of his time is gone.
In this school, that is.
Still a crazy thought though,

He couldn't comprehend it,
Not really.
Didn't have much to show for it,
Not really.

"Scholarships?" He thought with a shrug,
"Not my thing anyway."
"Relationships?" he frowned.
"Guess I fumbled those too."

For a moment, he felt lost,
"Life sure can be overwhelming,"
he thought.

And it struck him, yet again:
"Just live."
"Right," he chuckled.

So just ease up—
For when you turn to look behind,
It'll already be gone.
