To The Man Who Took In My Wife
The glow in her young smile
Captured your heart
she was in need of a home
and that where it starts
you invited her in
to your loving home
and raise her to be
one of your own
like a duckling under a hen
she took so well
the love that flowed
no one could tell
the benchmark you set
which everyone can see
motivates family
my hat goes off
to you whom I admire
as you raised the girl
of my love and desire
now you're gone
she will smile a little less
expect on this day
we lay you to rest.
