Can we forgive
The way the leaves blow
Or the loud barking dog?
Can we forgive
The height of the mountain
Can we forgive The rain and fog?

I can make it
Look so easy
Put a smile upon my face
yet the truth is
All my anger’s
Not a thing I can erase
I’ll remember
And look downward
And my heart will start to pace
And my mind will start to scheming
How to put you in your place

Put a fence up
Get a shotgun
Put a ski lodge on the *****
An injunction
That will function
As a law to give us hope

And the rain and fog will lessen
If I move so far away
Still my shouting
At the ocean
Just won’t make it
go away
