My love, my love, I’d love to tell
Was just as fair as one may be
Her lovely eyes like waves that swell
    Athwart the pearl-laden sea

Her lips were sweet and just as lush
As red roses, fresh, one to kiss
Her voice in song is like the rush
Of rivers those who sing with bliss

Her hair as gold as sunshine rays
Her skin as white as driven snow
Her touch like first of summer days
When high the golden sun does glow

She is an elf, an elfin queen
Upon her hair, the bloom of spring
And in her eyes, her soul, a sheen
    A beauty, fresh and ripening
