Beware the edge of darkness.
The deep dark abyss that peers into the mind.
When one looks lamenting his fate or fame
Or dons thinking of all he’s failed to gain,
What once was near will be far
And skies of beauty like that of tar.
Nothing holds a place in the mind
For the man who’s left all behind
By seeking only things unattained
He’s forfeited all his gains.
