You need space, so much space,
But I am an astronaut.
Your lens is dark, pitch black at times,
But I see things best
when my eyes are shut.
You are cold, so very cold,
But I love brisk winter mornings,
so fresh, and free of dust.

{chorus}
You are
You are
You are

{non instrumental}
Not for me,
But I love you.
Not for me,
But I love you.
Not for me,
But I love you.

I love your sensitive heart,
But not the way you bury it deep underground,
and hide it with with layers of dirt and debris.
I love your quick mind,
But not when it fails to understand that our connection
is just another synonym for poetry.
I love your perceptive eyes,
But not how they can’t keep contact with mine,
When you’re telling me in every way you can that you love me.

{chorus}
I love
I love
I love

{non instrumental}
I love you,
But not for me.
I love you,
But not for me.
I love you,
But not for me.
