Pennies fill our jar
Dollars slip through the cracks
Chasing a dream that hasn't been in the scene

Drowning in tobacco smoke and ale
Our resolve fails
Fleeting comforts that always flail
The cost great, it seals our fate

The porcelain pig fills
Just to cry as it's smashed once again
When will it end?
Our relationship needs to mend

Stuck in the sand
Clutching it in my hand
As it slips away once again
One step forward and 5 steps back. This is the American "Dream"
