Poems
Aug 26
It’s 8 a.m. on Sunday
I lay here as my heavy eyes fought me.
Is it the same to thank God for waking me up,
when I didn’t go to sleep?
I left my curtains closed so the illusion of night still clings.
At a moment, I heard the sun sigh.
I don’t want to talk right now.
Come back when there is cotton candy in the sky.
My thoughts of you were silenced
as I heard the birds yell at me.
I’ll try again tomorrow—
I promise them.
Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
