The Gods sent her to plague the town of Thebes, for a crime long forgotten,
she showed no mercy for that was part of her job,
she'd devour those who were deemed unfit, those who couldn't solve her riddle,
she wasn't a bad creature, for killing all those innocents,
she was following orders from the ones above,
she was a beautiful creature, who was taken advantage of,
they took her from her home and forced her to stay, in that village that was just so far away,
when Oidipous solved the riddle she was filled with glee,
for she could get off that mountain and return home,
her legacy has not been forgotten, she'd live on for centuries after,
her story caught in paintings, vases, and statues,
she was a beautiful creature whose legacy will never end.
