I remember when I was young, I would hear people say,
“what do you hear, feel, smell taste and see”,
I had a dream or a memory,
You could hear nothing not even the wind,
You could feel cold water between your toes goose bumps going up my legs,
The smell of salt and sea water
your eyes open the bright blur of light hits your eyes,
you blink your eyes slowly adjust to the lighting.
You look around to see snowy white could touching the surface of the water,
In the distance there is a dot that becomes and figure then a person,
It a young kid they look very familiar.
You look away to see if there anyone else here but
When you turn around, they grown old their hair is longer and darker, their taller,
Turn to call out for the little girl that was stand before you but,
When you went to call out some clouds move out the way to display,
Them siting down at a table with people around them.
Theres a cake on the table the has two candles on it saying,
“happy sixteenth”
it changes once more this time there is no smile in the photos being taken,
their eyes all watery they were on the veered of crying,
they doesn’t want to grow up.
You feel water in your eyes you wanted to turn away and wanted to get out there,
But now there is a mirror in front of you showing a person that looks the same as you,
Once more the girl is now front of you, with a cake a different cake,
“happy 25th birthday “
written on the cake,
it becomes darker as you slowly think about the girl,
you blink once more to hear,
“1,2 ,3 Happy”
At the time you realise the kid you saw was you and your past of growing up
It was dream and a memory.
Also a wish
