Sunshine rays glisten on the waves
Sand squishes beneath the soles of my feet
I go straight to where
the sand and the water meet
I stand there for a while
thinking of all the possibilities
The sea opens up to so many discoveries
Creatures are lurking underneath
waiting to devour your very being
Ready to catch you in their grip and
never
let
go
but they have to do it at some point, right?
Even when it hurts?
******, terrified but finally freed
Then again there are so many fish in the sea
Some will only look up and stare
Admire from afar
or some will take the courage
to venture up close and personal
Willing to get a feel of something more
There will also be others
who won't pay the slightest bit
of attention toward you and that's fine too
Because there are plenty of fish in the sea
So as I'm standing there in the breeze,
do I dip my toe in the water or
do I take a running leap?
Do I go for it or
maybe another day
It doesn't matter if the water is cold or warm
Choppy or calm
What matters is that I can take all the time I need
because there are plenty of fish in the sea
