happy heartbreak
Twas written in the stars,
how your glide in the park,
broke my foolish heart.
Warm body held tight,
uninterrupted affection,
in someone else's arms tonight,
looking at her I see my own reflection.
I sleep alone and dream all day,
of all the things I'll never say.
While my heart is aching, my mind is clear,
this life is mine and I'm the one to steer.
Though my love runs deep,
I shall not dwell,
gazing onward I must leap,
I will not rebel,
this growing curve is steep,
but time will surely tell.
