I allowed purpose to sooth my soul
Yet I allowed poison to play its role

I allowed pain to strengthen my life
Yet I allowed poison so it heightened the knife

I allowed poison and it hurt everything I cherish
I allowed poison so it had to perish

I allowed poison upon my shore
I allowed poison
Yet I will not allow poison to win the war
