Professionalism

by HannahChristina

I got a letter in my inbox from property management, and for once it didn't use the royal "we". It arrived, like all the others, as a PDF attachment. Message body: "No Content", watermark and logo at the top of the page. But then? "I'm sorry," it began. "I'm sorry," it said--(She said? He said?) "...for the length of the grass. I have been waiting on some equipment that is soon to arrive. According to the weatherman," (here I marveled) "I should be able to start on Friday, but Saturday or the beginning of Sunday would probably be best. If everyone put away their kids' toys and anything outside that would be very helpful, since I want to make sure mowing doesn't take too long to finish up for you all. Thank you," the person concluded, "for all your help." "Oh, no problem at all!" I wanted to cry. "The grass is no big deal, and of course we--I--am happy to help. You're so thoughtful and kind, and I'm sure you have a lot of work, and I'm grateful for you, and! I love you!" //I love you.//
