Oh wind!
You liven my spirit,
and fill me with hope and joy!
How does invisible movement do this?
How does the rustle of leaves stir excitement?
How does cool air on my face
and the whipping of my hair,
free and messy,
give me motivation
to try new things?
How does the howl and whistle
wrapping around buildings
inspire dreams to take flight?
Wind, fill my lungs with air,
like you do the Earth.
Make me move like you,
powerfully,
like the waves and tree limbs
and feathers.
Inspire me to swirl things around a bit,
be unpredictable,
lift up the things from the ground
that need freeing.
Speak to me softly, yet clearly
so that I may act up on your words
with confidence,
swiftness,
and a lightness of heart.
