Days of Reckoning

Anger, fear, death, and scorn

I’ve seen it all before

I’ve seen it in the prophet’s eye

I’ve seen it in the darkened skies

And growing in the faces

Of our nation’s youth

To tell the truth

Throw my feelings ‘gainst the wall

Love and hate, crush them all

Turn my back on my frozen mind

Turn my back on the world unkind

And accept that maybe

It’s only fair

But no-one cares

And through the reckless hate that’s spawned

An evil picture in my mind is drawn

Ten million people in mourning

Six billion people without warning

Are taken against their will

To the fiery gates

Where Jesus waits
