The whole of our history runs through my mind
I see mankind's struggle get passed down through time.
We're born on a rock to live and to die
To pass on our seed without knowing why.
We do what we can, we write our own song
We decide for ourselves what's right and what's wrong.
We wonder aloud if we're doing it right
It keeps us awake in the darkest of nights.
The people we meet all have their own views
That we'll never know, we can't walk in their shoes.
Time marches on without blinking an eye
And we all pay our dues, we all have to die.
This worlds all we know but it isn't a friend
A hole in the ground's all we have in the end.
But that's not that bad, I hope that you see,
To breathe and to live is alright by me.
