you are visible in every line
of my poetry
i could say hundreds of words
just to describe your eyes
and thousands just to tell you
how i miss you

your name is etched in every sentence
of my prose
telling you how i love your hands
and the smell of your hair
the zinging energy of your smile
and all that there is about you

i could write all day long
for the rest of my life
about you and your ways
of giving me almost every emotion
in this mad planet

i could write all the time
for the rest of my days
and darling, it will never be enough
for what i feel for you
can only be expressed
in more ways than literature

but with this distance
that separates us,
i think this is the most i can do
to tell you how much you mean to me
and that even though there's distance,
it's always gonna be you
