Jul 2010
this world burns like fire
it burns memories deep into your veins
making everyday harder and harder to forget
that we once loved somebody
but they turned away
they left us like the sun at dusk
bring with them the night because we all slept in
and when you open your eyes I hope you look
stair long and hard at the monsters before you
see the father who wants to **** the daughter
see the *****'s next **** victim
see this world burn
and its last extinguisher has ran out
I would speak up but these days I'm forgetting how to talk
forgetting what it means to even be human
but always reminded of what I need to be
and as I look upon these charcoal black hands
I notice pieces of me peeling away
exposing my flesh and bones
until nothing is left but what I was when I was born
placed into these shoes
to burn with the rest of the world
