she's standing alone
her head hung low
her lips mouth 'hello'
but the sadness in her tone
shows the obviousness of it all
she's standing alone

someone called out
'hey lady, do you mind if i shout?'
she groaned out a plea
and gestured above
her ears were bleeding
'please, don't make a sound...'

a child with two left feet
went stumbling in defeat
'my mom says you're weird'
and gave her a peek
what a disaster he made
and went crying like a fake

she could feel the shadow
creeping in front of her
she waited for a voice so harsh just like the others
her chapped lips quivered, her dry hair swayed
'i wish you'd bothered me long before'
and she could feel herself smile
