Poems
Sep 2013
days of the harvest
a sunbeam spreads
from within that
smile
of yours
it warms the
sparsely populated fields
of my
barren heart
wanting for
a little grain
to grow
but its growth
will not be fueled well
by the tears that fall
like rain
i know
i need
a little happiness
a little sunshine
in my life
and it comes
on the rare occasion
that i
am your cause
to smile
these are the few
the far between
expected days
of the harvest
and i’ll
enjoy them
while i
have them
for a while.
