This isn’t sadness
This is fear
Fear of losing someone who was unexpected
Years it’s been since this familiar sting
Why couldn’t it be someone who loves you madly
Yet they didn’t tug on the heart strings
Why wasn’t it someone that would leave everything for you
But yet the feelings didn’t reciprocate
Then there’s you
You came and went someone I didn’t anticipate You revived the feeling long dead over the years
Fear
I don’t like this feeling but I don’t want to let it go
