I see sadness in the way you move, as if your only wish
is for the ground to open up and swallow you whole.

I see it in your shifting eyes-they move from my eyes to
the sky to the people surrounding you.

I can see how you yearn to be in someone else's skin;
how your bones ache to be free of your mind.

The corners of your mouth twitch when they try to
reach too high, as if they aren't strong enough to
hold up whatever is bringing you down.
