you've plagued my thoughts for years
once bringing me joy and happiness
but now you're burdening me with more or less of a curse

you come and go in waves
placing your memory in seemingly everyday items
and having made contact with these things,
i'd be afflicted with crippling memories,
good, bad, and everything in between

as of late, though, your curse is lifting
i'm forgetting your scent
i'm forgetting the feeling of your hands intertwined with mine
your ghost is finally collecting its belongings
and moving on
ghostling
