it's hard to remember
when everyone leaves
that you didn't drive them away
you are not the center
of everyone's lives
you are hardly the center of yours
they go at the speed of
shattering glasses
and you blindly wave a goodbye
bite back your venom
and fish out your lures
you were always alone anyway
