God placed you in our arms
we qualified to be parents too
Bewitched by all your charms

You learned to walk, to read
Each day brought something new
No more our little boy
You hurt, we cried at times, you grew

Sometimes you didn't need us
didn't want to hold our hands
Your independence made you proud
But we were a little sad

we blinked our eyes, we turned around
your almost grown we saw it
Why did it go so fast?
A few more moments please

In your struggle to be free
Sometimes we don't get along
But we're always on your side
we'll always be your parents
Regardless of what

You can't stop time, can't hold it back
Can't stop the ocean's tide
The good person that you are
Fills our hearts with pride

In our eyes there is no one like you
Can't wait to see what you'll become
Our pride and joy, we love you
Happy birthday to our  son
