Empty

by Monte

Empty bottles, empty promises Empty words, empty paper How long does a friendship last? A shirt is just a shirt A shell is a burden How long does love last? I use to think forever and a day But forever is just a moment How many times have I tried? Over and over And over again A bottle full of letters Filled with broken promises Words that once had meaning Now empty and meaningless That shirt that I bought for you You can take it, have it That love that I once shared with you You can sell it trade it Will I ever try again Maybe but with a new bottle Empty bottles, empty promises Empty words, empty paper
