The moment that you spoke
There was a shock-wave of pain
Something inside me broke
My heart you have slain
I try to stand tall
But the force of your blow sends me to my knees
I attempt to express my pain
But all the breath I require to speak has been stolen by the breeze

What did I do to turn you so cold?
Your heart is now covered with a hateful mold
I search your eyes
My once comforting place
But I see no sight of you in them
Not a trace.

I've recovered my breath
But I don't speak by choice
Too proud to let you hear
The break in my voice
Our once strong love
Has been crushed by its own weight
How has our once blazing flame
Ignited so much hate?
