Aug 2013
Light white noise in the distance,
a constant fuzz that echoes the beating of the drum.
An empty mind and glassy eyes,
taking in the world,
swirling, fast forwarding
until it passes me by
in the blink of an eye.
Heart beats slow
until everyone is still,
I look around to see
the world is motionless,
and yet faster than ever.
Blank pages filled with words,
empty picture frames
and silent movies.
The world around me,
I'm sure it's beautiful,
I'm sure it's glorious,
I'm sure it has meaning,
but with each breath I can't help
but take it all in,
and let it pass me by.
