I see you gazing into my face during class,
Thinking of our ancient past.
How eccentric could it be
That you still have eyes for me?
I don't have to learn from any book,
I can read it all by your look.

Truth is, there's a reason why it didn't work
You waited for me forever,
Just as I did you...
But it's plausible to say the time is never.

Why can't we seem to move on?
I made myself clear I was long gone.
Perhaps we are supposed to be together,
Bound by some supernatural tether.
When I had to watch you walk with different girls,
My heart writhed in violent whirls.

Truth is, there's a reason why it didn't work
You waited around for me forever,
Just as I did you...
But it's plausible to say the time is never.

Back into a fit if reality,
I see you're still staring at me.
My thoughts and feelings so complicated,
Seeing the situation as if it were pixelated.
I want so badly to turn and run away,
But the prospect of your love entices me to stay.

Truth is, there's a reason why it didn't work
You waited around for me forever,
Just as I did you...
But it's plausible to say the time is never.
